A Forest CLT home is a home for life: planet-friendly, secure, generously designed and genuinely affordable for each and every individual or family that lives in it – forever. There will be plenty of shared spaces where you can really get to know your neighbours. Strong local networks enrich life, instilling a sense of safety, support and belonging.

We follow an approach to design called One Planet Living. This means each Forest CLT home will maximise the benefits of sunlight, natural ventilation and renewable energy to keep energy bills low and homes light and airy – benefiting the environment and people alike. To make the most of scarce land, the majority of Forest CLT homes will be roomy and cleverly laid-out apartments, each with a private balcony or terrace big enough for family meals and growing plants, although we may consider building houses and two-storey apartments if it is right for the site. Each layout will provide flexibility, so your home can adapt as your family changes.

Creating apartments rather than a small number of houses means we can make homes as affordable as possible while retaining space for shared gardens where residents can come together to socialise, garden and grow food. We believe that car parks are not a good way to use precious land in cities so we will provide a few spaces to meet accessibility needs and provide a car sharing scheme with electric vehicle charging points.
